Dr. Andrew Slavin,DMD Explains “Same Day” Dental Implants
Understand The Best Solution For Your Dental Implants
The Straumann Pro Arch Approach To Same Day Teeth
In the press today there’s a lot of hype about replacing teeth in one day. You go into a dental office or a dental clinic or an implant center with bad teeth and you come out with a brand new set of teeth implanted in your jaw. In a perfect world that works well, however in today’s world it doesn’t work so well. A few years ago an implant company came out with a coined term called “All On Four“, meaning that they would put in four implants and attach a permanent bridge to the four implants. The idea is a patient would walk out of the office with four implants and teeth attached to the four implants for a new smile the same day or a day after. In some cases this can occur but not most cases. In most cases there are other challenges that need to be addressed;
- The teeth are infected
- There is not adequate bone around the teeth
- There is not adequate support for the teeth
In some cases, implants can be put in at the same time of extractions. Then, the teeth can be made and the patient can leave the office the same day or come back the following day to have the teeth placed. But unfortunately, this is not always the case. The implant system that we use is made by Straumann, which is a Swiss implant system. This implant system is the finest implant system in the word.
Straumann’s Answer To The All On Four
Straumann’s answer to the all on four concept is called Straumann Pro Arch and it’s very similar to the all on four concept except much better. The parts fit much better, it’s like a Swiss watch, and they do a great job in making the Pro Arch concept a reality for a lot of patients. In patients who have to have teeth extracted and have to wear a removable appliance for an extended period of time, they can come to the office or to the clinic, be put to sleep, have the teeth removed, the teeth implanted, the mouth scanned with an inter oral scanner, and the dental lab technician can then make the teeth. The patient can get the teeth either the same day or the following day and have a beautiful smile with the temporary fixed prosthesis. Then three months later they get the permanent prosthesis. They basically leave the office the same day or come back on the following day and get an implanted set of teeth. This way they don’t have to wear a removable appliance. I hope that you look up Straumann Pro Arch and find out why it really is the right choice for most patients. Straumann has an excellent system and an excellent way for someone to replace failing teeth.
