Do you feel comfortable smiling at people you meet for the first time? If you have crooked, stained, chipped, or missing teeth, you may try to smile with tight lips or not smile at all. Cosmetic dental procedures can help. They can transform even the worst smile into something you can be proud to show off to anyone.

Teeth Bleaching

Drinking coffee, using tobacco, trauma, age and medications are just a few reasons teeth can become discolored. Yellow and brown stains can dull even the healthiest smile.

Teeth bleaching, also known as whitening, can give you a brighter smile in a short amount of time. The treatments you get at a dentist’s office are stronger than those you can buy in a store and can give you results in an hour or two.

Dental Veneers

Chipped or misshapen teeth can make anyone feel self-conscious. Covering the teeth with veneers offers a permanent solution for fixing a damaged smile.

Dental veneers are made from porcelain or composite resin, colored to match the surrounding teeth. The dentist custom-fits the veneer to the tooth by removing a thin layer of enamel. He then uses a bonding agent to permanently attach the veneer to the tooth.

Invisible Braces

One of the best treatment options for crooked teeth is braces. However, braces don’t have to be the wire-and-bracket type most younger kids wear. Older teens and adults can wear invisible braces instead.

There are three different types of invisible braces available: ceramic brackets, clear aligners, and inside braces. Ceramic brackets replace the traditional metal ones, blending much better into the surrounding teeth color. Clear aligners are trays that gradually move the teeth into their optimal position. Inside braces have the brackets and wires placed on the inside of the tooth instead of the outside.

Crowns

Teeth can sustain damage from accidents or poor dental habits. If a tooth receives enough damage, neither bonding nor fillings will help. Crowns offer a way to cover a damaged tooth without extraction.

Crowns are made from one of the following materials: ceramic, resin, porcelain fused to metal, all metal, or stainless steel. The dentist will prepare the tooth for the crown by grinding it down. Then, a mold will be taken in order to craft the new tooth’s shape. The new tooth gets made from the selected material. Then, the dentist will install it using a permanent bonding agent. It is permanent and long-lasting.

Dental Implants

Sometimes, when the root of the tooth has damage, the entire tooth must be removed, leaving a gap. In these situations, a dental implant is a perfect solution.

With this procedure, the damaged tooth gets removed, and the jaw must be allowed to heal completely. After the healing is complete, our dentist will install a dental implant post into the bone of the jaw, coming up through the gap. After the post insert heals, we will create a crown that will replace the removed tooth. The lab will create the crown, and then our dentist will install it. The end results are permanent and can be life-changing.

The best thing about cosmetic dentistry procedures is that you can mix and match procedures to get the smile you deserve to present to the world. Give Good Samaritan Dental Implant Institute a call today to set your appointment for a new smile.
